Chalet Pelerin, Sainte-FoyVerified

10-14 Guests · 5 Bedrooms · 510 sq. m. · Sainte-Foy · France

Chalet Pelerin puts guests in the epicenter of alpine adventure. Seven world-class ski resorts, including Tignes and Val d’Isère, are 30 minutes away or less. Ski a different resort every day, with lift tickets and transportation included in your stay. The chalet’s proximity to the Italian border provides guests access to three heli-ski bases, with runs averaging 1,000 to 2,200 vertical meters. Legendary off-piste runs and steep and deep lines can also be skied straight to the chalet door. The chalet’s setting, nestled in the tiny mountain hamlet of Le Miroir, immerses guests in the local culture and provides the perfect base to recharge after a powder day. Après in the outdoor hot tub or fireside in the rustic living room, then indulge in regional specialities like fondue and tartiflette.

Built on top of a tiny French farming village, Chalet Pelerin provides 180-degree views of the surrounding Tarentaise Valley. King guest rooms bring the outdoors in, with large windows and balconies. Rooms are named after iconic French Alpine mountains, and the rustic, yet comfortable design reflects local traditions. There’s no need to set an alarm, as church bells or cowbells signal the start of each day.

An indoor swimming pool, Finnish sauna, and outdoor hot tub with views of Mont Pourri are all great for après. Guests can ski straight to the Alpage, an old sheep herder’s hut where staff will carve out a snowbank seating area and serve appetizers around the fire. Meals are served at a farmhouse table surrounded by sheepskin rug-covered chairs and after dinner drinks can be sipped by the double-sided fireplace in the cozy living room.

Unwind on our living room sofas next to the log fire or enjoy après with a cocktail in the hot tub. A large balcony with mountain views is the perfect spot to sip your morning cappuccino and the outdoor fire pit is a favorite gathering place after dinner. In the evenings, gather in the media room and relax with movies and board games, or snowshoe to our off-piste Alpage for a fireside cocktail and a candlelit traditional dinner of Côte de Boeuf and fondue. Chalet Pelerin has a special outpost called the Alpage. Originally a historic farmhouse, the Alpage is now renovated and makes for a memorable place to enjoy an evening bonfire and traditional French dinner any time of year.

An open-plan living area frames the summit of Mont Pourri. The room is full of classic Savoyarde charm, from old wooden beams that show inscriptions from the 1800s to antique climbing shoes and trophy deer antlers that hang from the walls. In the winter, a double-sided log fire beckons after a day on the slopes.

Adjacent to the living room, the dining area sits next to an open kitchen that allows guests to watch our chef at work. Chapel chairs covered in sheepskin rugs surround the family-style dining table, giving the space an authentic, alpine feel.

Oversized sofas and snuggly throws make our media room the perfect lounging spot. Watch a movie on the surround sound flatscreen TV, play board games, or challenge kids, family, or friends to video games. You’ll never have to press pause or skip a play as a nearby fridge is stocked with drinks and snacks.

Our wellness facilities ensure you can go hard all day and recharge at night. An outdoor hot tub with commanding mountain views helps put stressed out urbanites in instant vacation mode, while a steam room and sauna erase any aches after a day at play. If you’re looking to keep fit or simply relax, our indoor, freshwater swimming pool is treated with oxygenation and has its own counter current system.

Every balcony and terrace at Chalet Pelerin overlooks Mont Pourri, in addition to the off-piste slopes at neighboring Sainte Foy resort and the famous Espace Killy area of Val d’Isere and Tignes. Soak in views from the outdoor hot tub or stargaze by the fire pit. An outdoor dining area strung with lights is perfect for al fresco meals prepared on the grill.

Food & Drinks

Pelerin

Food is a highlight at Chalet Pelerin. A hearty breakfast of local yogurt, muesli, house-made bread, and farm-fresh eggs fuels skiers through morning powder turns. Even in the backcountry, guests can expect bubbly at lunch and fine French cheeses. In the evening, chef Hannah’s carefully sourced menus showcase Savoyarde dishes like pumpkin velouté with Beaufort cheese and croutons, and of course, fondue. French wines also take center stage, with nightly menu pairings by our in-house Sommelier.
