#Outdoor hot tub
On the brink of the fashionable ski resort in Serre Chevalier, Chez Bear chalet looks down on Briançon, the highest town in France, making it one of the most loved ski chalets in the Valley.
Imagine waking up to panoramic views of snow-capped mountains and the most beautiful valleys from this flagship chalet where George Clooney once stayed. If you’re looking for a hot tub, world-class service and a setting that resembles a fairy tale, Chez Bear has it all. If it’s good enough for George, who are we to argue!
Immersed in a rich history, this 17th century restored farmhouse has all the adorable features you’d come to expect from a French ski chalet, but with so much more. Chunky wooden beams and original stonework set the scene for cosy nights sipping hot chocolate in front of the roaring open fire, or you may prefer a glass of bubbles in the hot tub.
What makes this ski chalet in Serre Chevalier really stand out from the crowd is the impeccable service. Not only will your personal Chef create bespoke menus and delicious evening meals, your private Chauffeur will drive you to and from the ski departure point of your choice each day in a 9-seater minibus. Briançon’s Télécabine du Prorel is a mere four-minute drive from the lodge so you can spend more time on the slopes and less time travelling, and there’s even piste-side ski storage available to boot!
The characterful lodge has a real Alpine feel and is spread across four floors, with an open-plan layout downstairs. The lounge is seriously cosy with flop-into sofas and an open log fire for warming your toes. Guests can help themselves to the well-stocked bar or cook up a pretty tasty pizza in the authentic bread oven. The dining area seats up to 12 guests and is the perfect space for enjoying dinner with friends or family.
The piece de resistance at Chez Bear has to be the Games Room, a rather cool, den-like space with pool table, cinema screen, Apple TV with Netflix and Sky TV, Wii console, PlayStation and DVD player – what’s not to love? What makes it even more special is the wet room and sauna – just what you need after a day on the piste.
We are extremely passionate about our food and wine - a gourmet evening meal is served on 6 evenings with carefully selected house wines. The afternoon tea of delicious cakes, confectionary and drinks is served everyday in front of a wood burning oven.
Evening meals have strong Italian and French influences - every dish is prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced and grown locally. Gluten free, vegetarian and other dietary requirements are catered for with pleasure.
Chalet guests are invited, and kindly encouraged, to discuss tastes and requirements before arrival allowing our chef to create bespoke menus that you will love - a unique service we are proud to offer.
Fine French and also Italian wines are carefully selected and served with all chalet meals - many of the Italian vintages are sourced directly from Cantina Comunale di La Morra in the heart of the Barolo wine region.
