Zermatt luxury catered or self-catered Chalet Carmen is our duplex attic apartment located in Casa Vanessa which is perched on a hilltop, yet very easy to get to. This is one of our favourite chalets because of its warm country farmhouse feel.

Access is very convenient via a tunnel lift which is 200 metres away from the Matterhorn Express base station and, in winter, the end point of the main resort ski run, thus making this in winter one of the few “ski-in” properties in Zermatt (please note that it is not technically “ski-in” since you ski to within 200m of the entrance tunnel). The church square with its boutiques and restaurants is just five minutes away in the other direction.

With its sloping wooden ceilings and extensive panelling, this cosy duplex attic chalet apartment offers 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (two were completely renovated in 2020).

It features a high ceilinged living room with a traditional wood burning fireplace, an open plan kitchen with dining and bar area. Upstairs there is a mezzanine floor with a second living area, which also features a sofa bed and a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Its sunny south and east facing balconies have plunging views to the river.

Three of the four bedrooms have beds which can be made up as doubles or twins, while the mezzanine has a sofa-bed if you need extra capacity. Carmen envelops her guests in a lovely authentic Alpine charm!

In Winter guests of the chalet can use a shared wellness area with a sauna and a steam room located in the same building.

Guests can leave theirs skis and boots in the tunnel’s ski-room. The entrance to the tunnel is 200 metres from the end of the ski runs beneath the Matterhorn Express lift station, just a 4 minute walk from the church square.

Offered on a catered or self-catered basis Chalet Carmen offers you the perfect space for your family holiday. Warm, cosy, with authentic alpine features like the wood burning fireplace which doubles up as an oven!

Carmen has been welcoming Chalet Owners guests since 2014.
