Zermatt luxury catered and self-catered Chalet Ibron is one of our four unique - and very rare - Zermatt residence: a luxurious freestanding three storey independent chalet with 4 double bedrooms, three bathrooms and a sauna.
Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run there is a street level tunnel which leads you to a lift (elevator) built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 2 minute walk to the property. The chalet comes with an electro wagon and stair-lift which our staff will use to move your luggage and shopping as required.
This luxurious free standing independent chalet with 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a sauna, is large enough for families or groups of 8. All the beds can be configured as doubles or twins.
Side by side, tucked against a beautiful hillside, the numerous balconies and large terraces give you bird’s eye views of the village and the surrounding mountains, encompassing all 3 of Zermatt’s ski areas. Although it does not have a Matterhorn view, the sun baths the chalet is as soon as it emerges.
The tunnel and elevator bring you up high above the village providing a true sense of high mountain seclusion and tranquility with breathtaking views. Although it does not have a direct Matterhorn view, the chalet is bathed in sun as soon as it emerges.
Guests can leave theirs skis and boots in the tunnel’s ski-room. The entrance to the tunnel is 200 metres from the end of the ski runs beneath the Matterhorn Express lift station, just a 4 minute walk from the church square.
It has the most luxurious and spacious master bedroom, with an open bath-tub, separate shower, separate W/C, and en-suite sauna, perfect to relax after a long day in the mountains. The second double bedroom is smaller and has no en-suite bathroom – it uses the bathroom on the first floor. Both these bedrooms have beautiful sloping wooden ceilings, and the master bedroom has a wide balcony with a glorious panorama.
On the ground floor you have the sitting room and an open-plan kitchen with the dining table, both giving on to the large terrace accessed through French windows. There is also a boot-room, utility room with washing machine and dryer, and a guest W/C. Ibron also has a large sunny terrace with tables, deck chairs and beautiful views.
The first floor has two double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. The larger bedroom is L-shaped with a sitting / dressing area like a junior suite. The other bathroom has an extra door leading to the landing, providing access for the bedroom upstairs which has no en-suite. Both these bedrooms have large south-east facing balconies.
We have tastefully decorated the chalet, delicately combining an alpine, cosy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone.
It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a hundred satellite channels, a rotating fireplace and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet’s carbon foot-print as much as possible.

The chalet is available on a self-catered or catered basis.
When you book on a half board basis, your dedicated team of 2 members of staff, your private Chalet Chef and Chalet Host & Concierge, will be looking after you before, during and after your stay. They will offer you a very high standard of half-board dining and service in the chalet, while our dedicated housekeeping team will take care of the daily cleaning. Our chefs are carefully chosen not only for their superior skills and experience, but also for their friendly, flexible and approachable nature. All have extensive restaurant experience, and many have trained in Michelin starred establishments. You can of course have your menus tailored to your likes and we will be glad to take into account any special requirements such as gluten intolerance.
To meet our client’s needs and desires we offer a wide range of support services. Our resident bookings and concierge team will ensure that you get the most out of your holiday and will help you select a number of other services. These may include child care, health and beauty treatments, planning your heli-skiing adventures, designing and hosting corporate events, or simply booking your restaurants, ski lessons and transfer arrangements.

If you are unable to travel as a result of the following COVID-related circumstances:
- Formal government travel advice from their country of departure against travel to Switzerland
- Country border closures preventing travel from country of departure or arrival to Switzerland
- Unavailability of flights/transport to Property
You can chose between the following 2 options:
- Use the payment as a credit for a future stay in one of our Chalet
- Cancel the booking - in this case we will retain 25% of the full booking price

Skis and boots can be left in the tunnel's ski-room. Although it does not have a Matterhorn view, the chalet is bathed in sun as soon as it emerges.
