From the outside, Chalet Cannelle is unassuming, but once you step through the doors, you are greeted by comfort, luxury, and alpine views. The spacious, open living area boasts original features and exposed beams, perfectly combining comfort with a contemporary interior in a 200 year old farmhouse.
Chalet Cannelle is owner-run, and we are dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. From catered ski holidays in the winter to bed & breakfast stays in the summer, we strive to provide for your every need.
Families, couples, and individuals can all enjoy a holiday at Chalet Cannelle for a relaxing stay with outdoor alpine activities.
Chalet Cannelle is home to six individually-styled bedrooms, offering a private and luxurious stay for every guest. Each bedroom includes all of the amenities expected for a luxury stay, including fine-quality Egyptian cotton linens, sumptuous towels and bathrobes, and spacious bathrooms. All of our bedrooms are non-smoking & pet free.
Dining at Chalet Cannelle is “chef’s table.” Our open kitchen and dining space allow you to see what is being created for the evening’s meal. Everything is made from scratch, and we use sustainable and local ingredients as much as possible. Expect to see fresh pasta or pastry being rolled, bread being kneaded, or ice cream being churned.
Cannelle has been welcoming Chaletowners guests since 24 Oct 2017.
We love everything about food. Growing it, picking it, sourcing it, preparing it, eating it.
The dining experience at Chalet Cannelle is why many of guests have been returning every year for 8 years. The large dining table next to the open kitchen gives you the chef’s table experience every night. This is where Andy spends the day, making pasta, ice cream and all manner of creations for you to enjoy after your day in the mountains.
We serve a varied menu for your stay, from contemporary French and Italian dishes to shared banquet style dining for a Thai feast. Our inspiration comes from our travels and adventures in other countries, and we love to share experiences with our guests.
Our aim is to serve fresh, satisfying and occasionally indulgent food...after all, you are on holiday! We always consider the nutritional value of our dishes and ensure they are some of the tastiest meals you will eat. We prepare vegetarian and gluten-free / dairy free meals with the same dedication and creativity as we do our other dishes.
Sourcing the ingredients we want to cook with takes much of our time but that effort ensures the quality and provenance of the ingredients meet our standards. We have farmers we trust and only use free range animal products. The Chalet Cannelle free range chickens wander where they please and provide eggs for breakfast.
Even in the winter, there will be food on the table that we have grown organically in the chalet garden or foraged from the mountains. Not everything used in the Chalet Cannelle Kitchen can be local or homegrown; the Alps are not suited for cultivating vanilla and cinnamon - but even these we source directly from small, independent growers in Madagascar and Sri Lanka.
For your catered stay, we serve a different red & white wine with every dinner. We source all the wines ourselves, most of them direct with the winemakers - some of who we have worked with for many years and others that we have met on our travels around France & Europe.

Chalet Cannelle is between 5-12 minutes drive from four ski lifts, which means you can start in a different place each day! Your options are open for ski touring on the quiet side of the Portes du Soleil as well, starting in La Chapelle D’Abondance, crossing into Switzerland, and finishing in Châtel. Ski up to 40km of piste without ever using the same lift twice.
Châtel is a snow-sure resort with extensive snow making for optimal skiing conditions. Skiiers also have the added benefit of many north-facing slopes where the snow pack on the piste lasts longer. Ski season in Châtel lasts until the third weekend of April!
