This farmhouse invites you to travel and daydream. It inspires reverie through the materials that contrast and complement one another: stone and lime plaster, old wood and stainless steel, tartan wool fabrics and blankets from the Hindu Kush.
The journey unfolds through its 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, each offering a unique setting and the chance to discover—through reading—the fjords of Alaska, the plateaus of Tibet, the peaks of the Himalayas, and the lakes of Switzerland.
On the top floor, a large picture window opens the main living area to views of the peaks of Serre Chevalier. This room, comprising a living area, a central fireplace, and a kitchen designed by Stéphane Barbier Bouvet, can accommodate about fifteen people.
The lower floors include the two separate entrances and the seven bedrooms, three of which feature bathtubs and four of which have showers.
On the garden level, the former vaulted stable with exposed stone walls has been transformed into a Native American-style lounge. Facing the 1970s-era stove—inspired by a trip to Easter Island—guests gather around a bar made of stainless steel and reclaimed wood to recount their ski touring adventures late into the night.
This house was built with environmental sustainability in mind, using high-quality materials and traditional techniques. The underfloor heating is powered by solar panels.
Facing due south, in the heart of the hamlet of La Chirouze in La Salle-les-Alpes, the house is located right at the shuttle stop, which will take you to the slopes in 3 minutes.
