Zermatt luxury catered and self-catered Chalet Pollux is one of our four unique, and for Zermatt very rare, residence: a luxurious independent three storey chalet with 4 double bedrooms.
Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run there is a street level tunnel which leads you to a lift (elevator) built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 2 minute walk to the property. The chalet comes with an electro wagon and stair-lift which our staff will use to move your luggage and shopping as required.
This luxurious ski chalet with 4 bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, is large enough for families or groups of 8. All the beds can be configured as doubles or twins. There is also a unique private outdoor hot-tub on the terrace.
Side by side, tucked against a beautiful hillside, the numerous balconies and large terraces give you bird’s eye views of the village and the surrounding mountains, encompassing all 3 of Zermatt’s ski areas. Although it does not have a Matterhorn view, the sun baths the chalet is as soon as it emerges.
The tunnel and elevator bring you up high above the village providing a true sense of high mountain seclusion and tranquility with breathtaking views. Although it does not have a direct Matterhorn view, the chalet is bathed in sun as soon as it emerges.
Guests can leave theirs skis and boots in the tunnel’s ski-room. The entrance to the tunnel is 200 metres from the end of the ski runs beneath the Matterhorn Express lift station, just a 4 minute walk from the church square.
On the ground floor you have the sitting room and an open-plan kitchen with the dining table, both giving on to the terrace accessed through French windows. There the chalet enjoys the use of its own unique private outdoor hot-tub surrounded by snow (in the winter), perfect to relax and enjoy the view (or the stars) after a long day in the mountains.
There is also a utility room with washing machine and dryer, and a guest W/C.
The first floor has two double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, a large master bedroom and a smaller double/twin bedroom. Similarly on the second floor, 2 more double rooms with en suite bathrooms, a large master bedroom and a smaller double/twin bedroom. All rooms have balconies with south east views over the village and mountains.
We have supervised the tasteful decoration, delicately combining an alpine, cosy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone.
It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a hundred satellite channels, a fireplace and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet’s carbon foot-print as much as possible.

Chalet Pollux and Chalet Castor (sleeps 8) are adjacent to each other and opposite Chalet Ibron, as well as our other 5 star freestanding chalet, Chalet Gemini, which sleeps a further 10 people. All these chalets may be rented together (Les Perles) enabling a group of up to 16, 18, 24, 26 or 34 guests to stay in the same location while benefiting from the space and privacy that only a sole-occupancy luxury chalet can provide.

The chalet is available on a self-catered or catered basis.
When you book on a half board basis, your dedicated team of 2 members of staff, your private Chalet Chef and Chalet Host & Concierge, will be looking after you before, during and after your stay. They will offer you a very high standard of half-board dining and service in the chalet, while our dedicated housekeeping team will take care of the daily cleaning. Our chefs are carefully chosen not only for their superior skills and experience, but also for their friendly, flexible and approachable nature. All have extensive restaurant experience, and many have trained in Michelin starred establishments. You can of course have your menus tailored to your likes and we will be glad to take into account any special requirements such as gluten intolerance.
To meet our client’s needs and desires we offer a wide range of support services. Our resident bookings and concierge team will ensure that you get the most out of your holiday and will help you select a number of other services. These may include child care, health and beauty treatments, planning your heli-skiing adventures, designing and hosting corporate events, or simply booking your restaurants, ski lessons and transfer arrangements.

The Chalet is accessed through a tunnel and an elevator. The entrance to the tunnel is 200 metre from the end of the ski runs beneath the Matterhorn Express lift station, just a 4 minute walk from the church square. This is an ideal location being close to the main lift station, the ski runs and the village centre. The tunnel and elevator bring you up high above the village providing a true sense of high mountain seclusion and tranquility with breathtaking views. From the elevator exit there is a 200 metre walk to the chalet entrances which are at the top of short open staircase. An electro transporter is available which our staff will use to move your luggage and shopping as required. Ski equipment is left in the ski room down in the tunnel.
